Roll Call: What Season of Life Are You In Right Now?

What season

The backend of life has a way of asking us to be both seasoned and teachable at the same time. Let’s do a real roll call. What season of life are you in right now?

In a few months, I will reach my sixth decade on this planet we call Earth. As an older Gen X’er, I have seen a few things, and let me tell you this season for me has more layers than people can see from the outside. On your side, maybe you’re trying to take your health more seriously. Maybe you’re caring for parents, helping grown kids, changing careers, rebuilding your finances, or learning how to live in a body that feels different from the one it did ten or twenty years ago. Maybe you’re learning new tools and new technology that sometimes make you feel sharp one minute and ancient the next. Maybe you’re trying to find your voice again in a world that keeps changing the rules.

I can relate to that. Part of this season for me is building FFPC, remembering where I’ve already been with Full Figure Plus, and learning how to bring that experience into a new chapter. Evolving from 100% plus size to older Gen X nutrition and wellness has me scared and excited at the same time. Learning new techniques in the kitchen after converting to fresh milled flour and adapting to my ever changing taste buds. There’s a little pride involved in that, and there’s a little humility, too along with a sense of accomplishment.

That’s a few reasons I want this space to feel honest. You do not have to pretend you’ve got it all figured out here. You can be accomplished and still uncertain. You can be wise and still in process. You can be tired, hopeful, irritated, grateful, curious, and halfway reinventing yourself all at the same time. That counts as a season too.

I will go first. The season I am in is launching a blog and sharing things I have learned in the hope of helping someone where ever they are at in the moment. Learning has been the foundation of Gen X for decades. Lets face it pop culture is not going to inform us so why not learn from someone who has been where you have been and going where you want to go too.

Enough about me. In one or two sentences, more if you’re feeling chatty: what season of life are you in right now?
